Open studio. Mari French 2014

welcome to my studio, all ready for the first day of Norfolk Open Studios 2014 tomorrow. This is the first time I’ve opened up this new-ish studio of mine and I’m looking forward to sharing it with friends and visitors.

Hope they can get up the steep stairs!

I’m open for this long Bank holiday weekend and then the weekend of 7 and 8 June (the last day of Open Studios). There aren’t many others open close by, so I’m hoping that the many visitors to the popular Castle Acre Open Studio Trail 8 miles to the south, will venture my way too.

Will let you know how it goes.

Good luck to all other artists holding their own open studios at this time.

studio space & swallows …

it looks like I’ve got a studio at last! having spent 3 years trying to find an accessible good-sized studio close to home (at present I’m working out of our tiny utility room, 6ft x 9ft).

I can’t wait to get using this space… it used to be a hayloft above stables and is built from typical Norfolk flint and brick. Apparently swallows flit in and out in the summer, there are nests… but not in the studio area, so no bird poo where ill be working, thankfully.

It needs a lot of work but fortunately I know a ‘man who can’, we’ll I’m married to him, lucky me ;0)

I’ll be posting updates on our progress…
