I’m off to London by train tomorrow to deliver these 3 recent paintings for final judging for the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours Exhibition 2017 at the Mall Galleries, London.
I was fortunate to get 2 through the final selection last year (which I wrote about in this post), so I’m delighted to have had 3 through the preselection process this year. These are from my current series of works inspired by the Venetian lagoon and its islands. You can see others in the series on my website here.
Wish me luck!
I’m not surprised they got through!
Thanks very much Martin!
Congrats! I hope your trip to London went well. These are gorgeous! I also love the choice of white on white framing… lovely! 😀
Thanks Rachel, it was a bit awkward and tiring (could have done with hubby giving me a lift!), but hopefully worth it. I’ll find out on tues 14th whether I’ve got any through the final selection. Glad you like the framing.
I love these paintings… Good luck at the RIPWC.
Many thanks for that Stephen!
Congratulations on making it thus far!! Hope yo get the well earned recognition 😊Lariane
That’s really generous of you Lariane, thanks so much.
These are gorgeous, really stunning.
Thanks so much Michael! Really kind.
Fantastic pieces Mari….colour palette capture the spirit and atmosphere, the light…. Good luck!
Many thanks Carolyn, its really good to hear that, I kept thinking people would think ‘what have they to do with Venice?’, but I’ve been making the effort to convince myself that what matters is what the paintings mean to me. It’s taken time to get the confidence, but I’m getting there! 🙂
